August 3 2021 Relationship Hero Review: Is It Worth It?
If you’re going through a breakup, dealing with mixed signals, or having a difficult time in a relationship, you might want to talk to someone for advice. Unfortunately, therapy can be expensive and you will often have to wait for an appointment and go to a doctor’s office.
Although the Covid pandemic has caused many psychologists to turn to telehealth, companies such as Relationship Hero and Better Help offer purely remote services, available 24 hours a day. If you’re thinking of signing up for the platform and trying out your workout, keep reading my full Relationship Hero review:
What is the hero of relationships?
Founded in 2016 by Lior Gotesman and Liron Shapira, Relationship Hero is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. The company offers coaching with relationship experts through online chat or by phone.
The service is aimed at people who are going through relationship problems who need someone out of their situation to talk to and give them some advice.
Is Relationship Hero a Scam or Legitimate?
Relationship Hero is legitimate, even if they try to get you back (and spend money) by sending emails and text messages to ask how you are and see if you want to chat. This could be addictive, so make sure you don’t end up spending money if you can’t afford it. Unfortunately, if you are going through a difficult time and you feel anxious or insecure, it is easy to rely heavily on these types of services.
How does Relationship Hero work?
Upon registration, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire. You will be asked about your relationship problem and some basic questions about you and your current partner or ex. You will then partner with a coach and begin a strategy session.
In the strategy session, your coach will delve into your situation and develop a personalized, step-by-step plan on what you need to do to achieve your goal. They will summarize your situation and then identify obstacles you may or may not know, as well as any patterns of self-destructive relationships. You’ll also receive tips on actions you can take right now to get closer to your goal, such as writing the perfect text message or improving your mindset.
After the initial strategy session, you can purchase packages or a subscription to receive ongoing training. You have access to live support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from the team of more than 100 coaches of the company.
You can book 15-minute block sessions, so you can choose from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes. Options include phone calling, text and video chat through the website or mobile app.
If you prefer to talk to a different coach or need to talk to someone immediately, you can see a list of coaches and the time or bands available. It will show you the profile of the coach, his availability and an image.
If you talk to your coach through online chat, you will always be able to see a complete transcript as well as the images you have uploaded to the chat room.
Initially, when Relationship Hero started, the service was quite cheap and you could buy cheaper packages or pay as you go at $ 1 per minute. Unfortunately, the service now has a different pricing model and has become more expensive over time.
Today it costs $ 150 for an initial one-hour strategic session and then you can buy credits or sign up for a subscription. The company used to offer a free 10-minute initial training session, but now it seems like the only way to get a free strategy session is for a friend to send it to Relationship Hero.
Coaching sessions are 180 credits per hour for most coaches, although prices may vary depending on the coach. At the time of writing, depending on the internet browser I open, or if I am logged in or out, the price of the packages seems to vary.
Guru has 180 credits for $ 358 (currently offered for $ 268.50)
Hero has 360 credits for $ 716 (currently offered for (433.50)
With both packages you have access to individual coaching sessions, group sessions and master classes. Credits never expire.
Subscription price (monthly billing):
$ 45 per week ($ 180 per month): 360 credits offer 2 on-demand sessions of one hour per month.
$ 82.50 per week ($ 330 per month): 720 credits give you 1 one-hour on-demand session per week. So that’s four a month.
$ 150 per week ($ 600 per month): 1440 credits offer 2 on-demand sessions per week.
$ 281.25 per week ($ 1,125 per month): 2880 credits allow you 4 on-demand sessions per week.
With all previous subscriptions you also have access to:
- group coaching sessions
- unlimited master classes
- free ebooks
- access to a Facebook group for members only
- unused credits are transferred and never expire
How are the coaches?
Coaches have years of experience helping people succeed in relationships and have been trained and certified by Relationship Hero. There is a code of ethics that coaches adhere to, such as always treating clients with respect, maintaining objectivity, and taking the best interests of the client into account.
Coaches are trained to provide active training that clients can use to help them achieve specific results. They are also trained to be open-minded, non-judgmental, ego-free, optimistic, and self-aware.
However, they are not licensed therapists. If you look at the website, some have a degree in Psychology or related fields, while others are simply certified by Relationship Hero.
Get instant help – Relationship Hero has online coaches 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so you can talk to someone quickly and easily in any time zone you live in. This is great if you have a time sensitive issue, for example, if your ex just sent a text message to you and you. not sure how to respond. With relationships things change quickly and sometimes you just need advice right now. So if you have an appointment in a week, that’s not good.
Call or message option – You can choose between a voice or messaging session within the platform. If you don’t like phone calls (or maybe you can’t because someone else is in the room), you may prefer the messaging feature. However, calling can save time, as you can say things much faster than typing.
The information is private – Coaches will always keep everything you say 100% private. Payments are also secured with bank grade SSL encryption.
Reference program – When you register you can send 3 invitations to friends. Invite your friends to Relationship Hero and get credit for trying out a free one-hour strategy session. When they have their session, you will receive 60 credits to refer them. If you become a paying customer, you will receive an additional 60 credits.
Money back guarantee – Relationship Hero offers a money back guarantee, so if you are not satisfied with your initial strategy session you can get a refund.
I can’t give you any advice on the following topics – financial, legal, mental / physical health and non-relational issues. If you need help with things like anxiety and depression, this type of service may not be for you, as it focuses on the relationship.
Different coaches say different things – Coaches are human and humans say / think different things, so what one coach may advise you is not necessarily what another would advise. Relationship Hero has different coaches, so it can be trial and error to find the right one.
Car – Although it was initially cheaper, Relationship Hero has increased its prices. You can’t pay per minute and you have to buy a package.
He does not take insurance – Relationship Hero does not take out insurance, although it is happy to give you an invoice for the return. If you have insurance, you may want to consult your network provider’s network therapists.
Coaches sometimes leave or change their work schedule – I realized that since Relationship Hero started, many of the site’s original coaches seem to no longer work there. Some of them also change their schedules, so if you are in a specific time zone and prefer a specific time slot, you may find that your regular trainer is not available. If you talk to a different coach, he or she will have to re-learn your story, which takes time.
Trying to get you back – If you don’t talk to them for a while, they sometimes send you messages to see how you are or give you free credit to come back. If you’re not careful, it’s easy to get caught up in spending money and relying on the advice of a third party.
Because of the current price, I would say that Relationship Hero is now too expensive considering they are not mental health professionals. You should pay a good salary to pay $ 330 a month for one hour a week. It’s about the same as a monthly car payment. While you can pause your subscription at any time, there is still a lot of money to be spent on training.
I understand that therapy in general can be expensive, but if you can access cheap therapy through your insurance or if you can access free counseling in your community (such as the UK), you may want to look into other options.
If you need quick, on-demand advice at any time of the day, Relationship Hero might work for you, but it’s quite expensive for a long-term coaching solution.
